No, it is not. You are responsible for your return ticket to South Africa.
Is airfare to Johannesburg from Cape Town included in the price?
Yes, this internal flight is INCLUDED in your trip cost.
Passports & Visas?
It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that all passports and visas are current, valid and obtained on time and be valid for 6 months after the return to home country and that any vaccinations & inoculations, where required have been obtained.
Must I bring my own bicycle?
Yes, you must bring your own bicycle that is in good working condition. If you cannot bring your own bike, please contact us and we can organize a rental bike.
Must I bring my own helmet, shoes, hydration pack & other cycling equipment?
Yes, you must bring all your own gear.
Do I need to bring spare parts for my bicycle?
You don't need to bring spare parts, but just keep in mind that the bike shops in South Africa often have to special order parts and don't always have them in stock. We would suggest to bring a spare derailleur hanger specific to your bike.
Do I need any Malaria medication for the trip?
The Northern Tuli game reserve in Botswana is a low-risk Malaria area and prophylaxes are advised for the Botswana leg of the trip. Please see your doctor for more information regarding this before departure.
Cape Town is a Malaria Free area.
Do I need to take care of my own insurance?
Yes. You are completely responsible for all your own insurance. Please see our Terms & Conditions section for more information.
Will food be included in the price?
Yes, we cater for all the breakfast, lunches and dinners for the whole duration of the trip. Any additional food or snacks that you might want, will have to be covered for by yourself.
What if I have special dietary needs?
Please make sure you contact us well in advance if you have any special dietary needs. We will be more than happy to accommodate your special requests & needs.
Will drinks be included in the price?
We will be providing some beverages with your three different meals per day. Any additional drinks will have to be purchased by you.
How long will we be riding per day?
We will be riding between 3 - 5 hours per day, somedays will be a bit longer. This is not a race, so we will be making some stops along the way to enjoy the scenery, have a swim, snap some photo's & to refuel with some food.
How technical will the trails be?
We will be riding a mixture of singletrack trails, rough jeep roads and fire roads. This trip is suited for riders Level 2 - 3. See our Ability guide page. We do recommend that you are in good physical condition, because the rides are long, and it will be hot, so the more prepared you show up, the more enjoyable the trip and the riding will be for you. You have to make us aware of any medical conditions beforehand.
How hot will it be in March in South Africa?
March is heading towards the end of Summer, which is a perfect time for mountain biking. Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate and is warm & dry, with an average maximum of 79 degrees Fahrenheit ( 26 Degrees Celsius) and a Minimum of 55 degrees Fahrenheit ( 13 degrees celsius).
We suggest a high factor sunblock and some protective type cycling clothing to prevent you from getting sunburnt. Hydration packs are also highly recommended, or at least two water bottle cages on your bike.
How hot will it be in Botswana?
Summer days are hot. Shade temperatures can rise to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degree celsius) mark & higher. Even in Summer it can get cool at night. The Summer is also the rainy season, and cloud cover and rain can cool things down considerably, although for a short period of time.
How many people will be joining me on the trip?
The group will be between 6 - 8 people.
Who are the guides?
Anka & Sven Martin will be your guides for the Cape Town leg of the trip. We will also have some additional local guides from the area.
In Botswana we have an amazing group of local guides that will be tracking animals, cooking gourmet food on open fire's & keeping us safe with their rifle's.
